Ruth studied English and Philosophy at Queen's University, Belfast, graduating in 2004 with a high second class honours.
Her poems have been featured on the NaPoWriMo website 3 years running. They are authentic, amusing and brutally honest.

Her monologues and short plays have been performed in association with Leeds Pub Theatre, Arts at the Arms, Both Feet, Rural Arts and World Monologue Games. A short monologue that she wrote about a dotty woman called Cynthia won her BRONZE in World Monologue Games 2021.
Ruth's blog, A Small Bleed on the Brain, about the brain haemorrhage she had in 2017, has been read by thousands and shared by charities including Headway.
